Questions
What applicants ask
What makes LMTSM different from other MBAs in North India?
LMTSM is the only AACSB-accredited MBA in Punjab , placing it among a select group of business schools worldwide that meet AACSB's rigorous standards for business education. For candidates seeking a globally recognised MBA without leaving the region, LMTSM offers a distinctive combination of international accreditation, the 70-year Thapar legacy, and a research-driven academic culture.
Is the fee worth it?
The two-year MBA costs around Rs 15 lakh. Against a 2026 median package of Rs 9.50 LPA and a top-25% average of Rs 11.10 LPA , the investment can offer a strong return over the course of a graduate's early career. 110 merit scholarships including 100%, 50%, 30% and 20% tuition-fee waivers can reduce the overall cost further. Education-loan support is also available.
What are the entrance requirements, and do I need work experience?
Applicants need a valid CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT or TMAT (Thapar Management Aptitude Test) score, followed by a personal interview. Work experience is not mandatoryfor the full-time MBA, so fresh graduates are welcome to apply. However, work experience does carry weight in the selection process as part of the Candidate Profile, which contributes to the overall merit score. Candidates with relevant work experience may therefore have an advantage in the evaluation.
How do the scholarships work?
Scholarships are awarded on an overall merit basis, considering a candidate's Class 10 and 12 academic performance, graduation, entrance test score and personal interview. Strong-performing applicants may be eligible for tuition-fee waivers, with the final scholarship awarded based on their combined merit across these parameters. The admissions team confirms scholarship eligibility as part of the admission process.
What placement and career support is provided?
Students receive dedicated placement and career support throughout the MBA. The Centre for Training and Development (CTD) works closely with students to build their employability through career-readiness initiatives, training and development programmes, while the placement team facilitates corporate engagement and recruitment opportunities. Students also gain exposure to live projects, industry interactions and mentoring to help them prepare for their careers.
